Back Story

Alden Merrell (AM) is a manufacturer of fine desserts located in Newburyport, MA. Initially a cheesecake manufacturer alone, AM had diversified and created dozens of new desserts to augment their product-line and help grow marketshare. The firm owned and operated five retail stores in the Boston area and offered products throughout New England .

The Challenge

We were initially charged to produce a cost effective product brochure showcasing Alden Merrell's offerings. As the relationship grew, we supported the company's stores throughout the seasons as retail offerings and menus changed with advertising and POP. Though many disciplines were required, integrating the Alden Merrell brand and value proposition was embedded in the core of every effort.

A variety of integrated marketing tools including brochures, sales sheets, packaging and point of sale materials were utilized to assist sales as AM targeted growth in the food service industry.

Results

Alden Merrell emerged as a major player in the food service arena nationwide as sales continued to increase and the Company's brand became synonymous with quality products and creative dessert solutions. Utilizing market research we identified the 'voice of the customer' which allowed us to strengthen the brands call to action. Aggressive positioning assisted sales efforts as AM began designing signature products for restaurants chains such as Chili's, Bertuccis, Uno's etc
